Payroll Technician

Department: Payroll

Location: Laval, Quebec

Type: Permanent, Full-time

THE ROLE 
The Payroll Technician works under the responsibility of the Manager to perform all tasks related to payroll and administrative support.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better:  

  • Assists master payrolls in their daily work;

  • Primary contact for the general payroll information line;

  • Assists with Records of Employment in addition to auditing;

  • Follow-up on circulated checks;

  • Complete statistics, returns, inquiries ;

  • Open and distribute mail;

  • Filing;

  • Respond to requests for information from managers and employees regarding payroll;

  • Perform all other administrative tasks related to payroll;

  • Keep informed of any changes in legislation or regulations with respect to labour laws and internal policies affecting payroll across Canada.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

Training:

  • ACP Accreditation (Will be considered a strong asset);

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in a payroll department;

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook);

  • Experience with Workday and (Peoplesoft an asset) software;

  • Be meticulous while having a good speed of execution;

  • Excellent stress and priority management skills;

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills;

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines;

  • Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in the handling of files;

Language skills:

  • Bilingual (French and English) (Will be considered an important asset).
